Medifast vs Slimfast Diet Review

I spent a lot of time researching this diet endorsed by Genie Francis and Kristi Swanson before I finally took the plunge and committed to it. I’m glad I did because I’ve had a great deal of success, loosing over 75 pounds. One of the things that really swayed me toward this one as opposed to other diets was that the nutrition is really sound.

I knew that low carb diets worked as I had previously lost a bunch of weight on the Atkins diet. However, Atkins ultimately turned out to be disastrous for me because I got tired of eating meat and eggs all of the time and I really worried about the high amount of fat and cholesterol I was getting. However, I was foolish enough to want to see results at any cost.

When I saw that I could eat carb, dessert, and snack type foods on medifast (chocolate shakes, pudding, crackers, oatmeal, cappuccino, etc), I was very intrigued. And when I took a look at the actual nutrition contained, I was shocked and happy that the items are so low in carbohydrates and fat, but so high in protein. The meals are fortified with lots of vitamins and minerals too.

But, then I started to wonder if I could get the same nutrition with slim fast, which I could get right over the counter. (You can get medifast online with no prescription needed, but I didn’t know that at the time. And, after a bit of research, I also confirmed that it is not a shake or bar only diet as the others are. It has over 70 food choices, with shakes being just one option.)

To answer this question, I decided to compare the nutrition in both products.

I compared apples to apples and examined both plan’s shakes. Slim fast’s creamy optima shake has 18 grams of sugar and 25 grams of carbs. In contract, medifast’s Dutch chocolate 55 shake has only 6 grams of sugar, 12 grams of carbohydrates, and 11 grams of protein.

This sealed the deal because I know first hand what a huge difference this is. I doubted that my body could get into fat burning mode (ketosis) with all the carbs and sugars in slim fast. Just for kicks, I tasted the optima shake. Although it claimed to have a new and improved taste, it was every bit as chalky as I remembered it from my high school days.

I honestly find the medifast shakes to taste very good, especially when you add fat free syrups or fat free whipped cream. It’s easy to discount the ingredients when dieting, but I’ve learned first hand that sound nutrition and results can coexist.

Tv Offers – Satellite TV – The Real Deal

Find Out What the Real Deal is Regarding Satellite TV

Who doesn’t want to maximize their television viewing prospects inexpensively and quickly? Satellite services provide television viewers with all of the benefits of cable service. With satellite consumers have the benefit of viewing hundreds of channels including local channels usually at a price that is more affordable than cable. So where do you go to buy?

Luckily, you can buy satellite TV online. In fact, I highly recommend buying online. You see, when you buy from online sources, you are opening yourself up to hundreds of discounts, freebies and more. Most online sellers offer incredible deals on satellite to entice you to buy from them.

Before you buy you should have a solid understanding of what exactly it is. Here’s a brief intro that will help you sort fact from fiction.

Operation

Satellite services work just like a conventional television does. Radio signals transmit programming that is received through a Satellite that orbits the Earth. This satellite broadcasts a signal to a dish connected to the user’s home. Satellite television technology enables the viewer to receive more than 200 channels from their home television, far more than a conventional television system.

There are three primary companies in the US that provide satellite television to customers:

  • DirecTV
  • Dish Network
  • Voom

Each of these companies broadcast channels directly to your home. Your choice of providers may depend in part upon where you live, because some providers such as DirecTV cater to individuals living in rural vs. suburban areas. When choosing a provider you might consider the following:

  • What you want to use your service for. For example, if you plan on using satellite primarily for internet connection and don’t live in an area where you can get cable, you should seek out the provider that is going to offer you the best service and best deal with respect to your internet connection.
  • Your viewing preferences. If you are an avid sports fan and want to see more live sporting events, compare providers to see which offers the best pricing plan.
  • Number of receivers. How many receivers do you think you will need? This may affect your decision to go with one provider vs. another. Most providers will offer up to four different receivers, meaning you can watch TV in four different rooms while viewing different changes.
  • Affordability. Satellite television is a good option for consumers looking to maximize their TV viewing potential without spending hundreds of dollars on a system. You can purchase a satellite package for pennies on the dollar, and still have the option of watching more than 200 channels at any given time. Satellite television is often a preferred choice for viewers operating on a budget.

Of the major online satellite service providers, DirecTV is the most well known and largest, but not necessarily the best. It does provide service to both urban and rural areas.

Benefits of Satellite Television

What are the benefits of satellite? There is ongoing competition between cable TV and satellite providers about which is better. Satellite for the most part offers many of the same benefits as cable service. In addition, by buying satellite services from online sources, consumers can take advantage of a number of “freebies” often thrown into a package to encourage customers to purchase. Among the more common freebies include:

  • Satellite dish
  • Receivers
  • Access Cards
  • Remote Controls
  • Cabling
  • Installation
  • Multi-system packages

Many satellite service providers will provide equipment for multiple TV hook ups for free, but this offer is sometimes reserved for first time customers only.

Other benefits of satellite include access to local channels in major metropolitan areas and even in rural areas with an off air antenna. Satellite television also offers international programming. In fact, Dish Network is the leading provider of foreign language packages and channels.

Myths and Misconceptions

There are some myths and misconceptions that abound regarding satellite television that deserve clearing up.

Myth 1 – You have to watch the same programs on all TV sets in the house when you have satellite.

False!

You can watch different channels in each of the rooms satellite is set up in, you simply need separate satellite receivers to do this. And most companies will offer additional receivers for free, especially if your buying satellite TV from online sources.

Myth 2 – The weather consistently affects the quality of programming.

False!

Rarely the weather might affect the quality of programming. Heavy and sustained storming for example might briefly interrupt reception. However this problem is also common among cable television viewers. In fact, if you were to poll cable owners, you’d probably find that many times the cable goes out in the midst of a storm. Satellite  might actually be considered less problem prone during inclement weather.

Myth 3 – Satellite can only be used in homes.

False!

Satellite reception is often available in apartment complexes. In fact, may apartment residents are able to install dishes very inconspicuously from their balconies. You should of course check with the landlord before installing any equipment, but you should be able to take advantage of the many benefits of satellite services even from an apartment.

Myth 4 – High Speed Internet is only available through cable.

Again, not true. High speed satellite internet is available in most areas of the US, much as cable internet service is.

There are many benefits satellite TV has to offer. You’ll reap even more rewards if you decide to buy online, include free equipment and installation. I highly recommend investing in a system if you haven’t already.

As Seen On Tv Products – Abs Machine Sales Tips

When delivering a sales pitch to someone do you ever wonder why there are times when you are able to close the deal and other times why you cannot? What makes the difference if you are presenting the same product in each sales scenario? Why do certain buyers jump on the opportunity while others are more skeptical? There is an actual science to the art of selling, and these are four tips you should keep in mind when approaching your next potential buyer.

1. Prepare for the buyers that ask “what if.” “What if” are the buyers that are the most difficult to sway into buying your product. These are typically the consumers who are constantly asking questions beyond the products purpose. For instance, if you are selling a carpet spot remover, then this consumer wants to know what if you use the same product for a stain on your couch, clothes, or shoes. Thus, you better know the product inside and out before dealing with this type of consumer; otherwise, you are going to fail miserably.

2. Inform the buyers that ask “why.” Buyers that ask “why” are the type of people who want to know what is in it for them. “Why” buyers are consumers who you must approach with information regarding the benefits of the product. Bombard them with an overload of answers. This approach does not work with all consumers, but for the “why” consumers the additional answers you provide the further convinced they are to buy your product on the spot.

3. Be scientific for the buyers that ask “how.” Buyers that ask “how” are generally people who need to know what formula, equation, electrical reasoning is needed to make the product work. “How” buyers wish to know how does the product work, what is the formula behind it, why does it work. With “how” buyers think engineers whom need to dissect a product and require explanations on how the product works. For example, if you are selling an ab machine to a “how” buyer, then be prepared to answer questions about how does the product work, what makes the product function, and what technical explanation is there for the results produced. If you think science with “how” buyers, then you shall result in a successful sale.

4. Describe practical stats to the buyers that ask “what for.” Buyers that ask “what for” are consumers whose attention shall be captivated by talking about what purpose would be fulfilled when buying your product in comparison to others. If you focus on practical matters such as how your product is better, cheaper, faster than anything else on the market, then the “what for” buyers become entranced. They are hooked into what you are saying and absorb it all translating into another sale for you.

If you keep in mind these various personalities of consumers/buyers when you present your product, then it makes your life easier. For you are able to evaluate which type of consumer you are engaging with allowing you to adapt your sales approach accordingly. It is an asset to keep these four types of buyers in mind so you may achieve higher sales than ever before.

If you are looking for an ab machine and other various “seen on tv” products, I trust you can find answers all your consumer questions.

Seen On Tv – Exercise Machines Compared

The world of exercise is filled with fancy machinery that promises you the world. Sometimes they deliver on those promises and sometimes they simply drain your pocketbook. That is why often times an honest review of products is helpful. Below you can find details on both the Gazelle Power Plus and the Edge. You can compare and contrast the two machines and make an informed decision on which one is right for you.

Features

o   1.5 Gauge Steel – 250 pound weight limit

o   Non-skid platform

o   Folds easily for storage

o   Low Impact

This simple machine gives you a low impact cardiovascular workout. Being low impact makes this machine a perfect choice for sufferers of knee and joint pain.

Power Plus:

o   8 Possible workouts

o   Low Impact

o   High tension aircraft cables and steel frame- weight limit 350 pounds

o   Thumb pulse for heart rate monitoring

o   On board computer gives you accurate time, speed, distance, and caloric burn

o   Comes with video workout

o   Also has the split suspension for range of motion

Again a great machine for low impact cardio training. The main difference in these two machines is construction, weight limit and a few bells and whistles. Overall another good machine. However, what do customers have to say about the machines?

Customer Reviews

Edge: People who have purchased the Gazelle Edge are unanimous in their opinions. The machine is easy to assemble, fun to use and packs away simply. There was very little in the way of complaints, though it was mentioned that after some use there is a little noise. Most said that using wd-40 like the directions suggest takes care of this minor annoyance immediately.  Of all the reviews, there was a 90% customer satisfaction rating that is decent for any product!

Power Plus: This machine had reviews similar to the cheaper Edge. Most were happy with the performance of the machine. Again, it was fun to use and beat having to deal with varying temperatures and weather. One satisfied customer shared that he was thankful for his machine after he was injured at work. He had a clean radial fracture of his fibula, but thanks to the low impact nature of the machine, he was able to maintain his workouts.  Out of 31 reviews, only eight people had any significant complaints.

Conclusion

When choosing between these two products there are really only two major differences, weight limit and heart rate monitor. The first of course demands attention; if you were over the weight limit, you would risk injury to yourself in addition to voiding any warranty. The second option of a heart rate monitor is more a matter of personal preference, however if you have a medical condition that requires you monitor your heart rate that is a different story.

The Edge it seems is the perfect machine for beginners. Low price and ease of use make it a perfect purchase for someone new to exercise or who is on a strict budget.
